Written while building, not after. Each one starts from a decision that had a cost, and stays with that decision long enough to say what the cost was.

- Why the launcher drives the app instead of the system proxy A machine-wide switch is one click and fails where you cannot see it. Scoping the same setting to a single process is more work to build and far easier to reason about.
- One behaviour, two builds The Windows edition is not a port. What two native implementations share, what they cannot share, and how parity gets tested without an account, a display, or anyone to click.
- Renaming a shipped app without breaking the upgrade path A name is attached to six different things, and only some of them can change. What moved in 1.1.0, what stayed, and why the repository still carries the old name.
- A version number is a build output A version typed into four places is four versions. One file became the only source, and the release artefacts became things that can answer questions about themselves.
